FinTech Alliance PH rallies fintech community through sports, kicks off Sportstacular 2026

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — FinTech Alliance PH is bringing together key players from the country’s financial, technology and business sectors through Sportstacular 2026, an industry-wide fitness initiative designed to strengthen collaboration and community across the Philippine fintech ecosystem.

The initiative, formally launched during a kick-off and partnership signing ceremony, will bring together fintech companies, financial institutions, industry associations and professional organizations through two major activities: Runtastic 2026 on Sept. 27 at BridgeTowne, Pasig, and Paddle Forward: FinTech for Good Pickle Ball Cup Season 2 on Oct. 24 and 25 at Astra PickleBall Center.

The partnership signing brought FinTech Alliance PH together with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), Bankers Marketing Association of the Philippines (BMAP), National Association of Data Protection Officers of the Philippines (NADPOP), Institute of Internal Auditors Philippines (IIAP), Chamber of Thrift Banks (CTB), Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce Philippines, Inc. (FICCI), Philippine AI Business Association (PAIBA), and Rural Bankers Association of the Philippines (RBAP).

For FinTech Alliance PH, the initiative reflects a broader view of ecosystem-building, one that extends beyond business transactions and technology to relationships, shared experiences and collaboration among organizations working across the financial and digital economy.

“An ecosystem becomes stronger when its members have opportunities to connect beyond their usual areas of work,” said Lito Villanueva, Founding Chairman of FinTech Alliance PH and Executive Vice President and Chief Innovation and Inclusion Officer at RCBC. “Sportstacular gives us that opportunity. It brings together people and organizations from different parts of the ecosystem through activities that promote wellness, camaraderie and collaboration.”

Runtastic 2026 will open the two-part initiative on Sept. 27, giving participants an opportunity to come together through running and other fitness activities. The event is positioned as a community activity that promotes wellness while creating opportunities for members of the fintech sector to build relationships outside the conventional business setting.

The momentum will continue with the second season of Paddle Forward: FinTech for Good Pickle Ball Cup, which will take place on Oct. 24 and 25. The event builds on the first season by bringing together participants from the fintech and broader business communities through friendly competition.

Beyond the sporting component, Paddle Forward carries the FinTech for Good banner, reflecting the Alliance’s effort to use the strength of the fintech community for initiatives with a broader social impact.
The partnerships supporting Sportstacular 2026 also reflect the increasingly interconnected nature of the financial technology sector. Fintech companies operate within an ecosystem that includes regulators, banks, rural financial institutions, professional organizations, technology groups and business associations.
By bringing representatives from these sectors into a common initiative, FinTech Alliance PH aims to create more opportunities for dialogue and relationship-building across the ecosystem.
“FinTech is ultimately about people and the communities we serve,” Villanueva said. “Innovation and partnerships remain important, but so are the relationships that allow an ecosystem to work together. These activities give our members a different space to connect, compete, and build the trust that supports collaboration."

FinTech Alliance PH said the initiative is open to participation from organizations across the fintech and business communities, further expanding opportunities for members of the ecosystem to engage beyond their respective institutions and areas of expertise.
