Debut Album Of ZENDEE Titled “ I BELIEVE"!

Warner Music Philippines proudly announces the release of debut album of  ZENDEE titled “ I BELIEVE. ”

            The nine-track album features six original compositions and three cover songs.  The complete titles, composers, theme and concept of the songs are as follows:

“ Runaway ” is an upbeat, getting over / moving on love song with a current/new sound written by US-based songwriters and world-class composers Andrew Fromm, Matt Bronleewe, Jordan Pruitt, & Tyler Hayes.

“ The Ones You Love ” - a love song about heartache and “ Completely ” -  a ‘couples song’ were both written by Diane Eve Warren. Dianne is a US-based songwriter highly regarded worldwide as a hit maker with hundreds of hit songs under her belt.

“ I Believe ” - an inspirational love song with only the piano and vocals and “ If You Want ” -  the only love song in the album that has only a ukulele and vocals as accompaniment. This was written by Lamberto Reyes Jr.  who also composed songs for other Warner Music artists.

“ Go The Distance ” is an inspirational song which best exemplifies the journey of Zendee and at the same time showcasing her vocal prowess. Written by Alan Menken, David Joel Zippel.

“ Hallelujah ” written by Leonard Cohen, is an  ‘arena’ inspired sound which focus on Zendee’s  vocal prowess.

“ Love Takes Time ” written by Mariah Carey and Ben Margulies is Zendee's version of this classic hit.

“ Runaway ” (acoustic)  is a stripped-down version of  ‘ Runaway. ’

The artistic and production team of  Zendee – “I Believe” is composed of  Flerry de Leon (Executive Producer), Neil Gregorio (Album Producer; A&R Direction),  Dante Tanedo (Chief Recording Engineer),  Dan Tanedo, Angee Rozul, & Efren San Pedro (Additional Recording),  Dante Tanedo (Song Mixing @ Bellhaus Entertainment Studio); Neil Gregorio (Song Sequence and Mastering), Arnie Mendaros, Moy Ortiz & Neil Gregorio (Vocal Supervision),  Niccolo Cosme (Photography), and Ira Cosme (Cover Layout).

Richard Poon Launches Pop Album Legends This April 26 at Eastwood!

 Say goodbye to the local Big Band Crooner, as Richard Poon goes back to pop with his latest album Legends, which will be launched this April 26, Friday, 7:00 p.m., Eastwood Mall Open Park, and April 28, Sunday, 7:00 p.m., Venice Piazza at McKinley Hill.

In Legends, Richard traces his pop roots by singing some of the biggest pop artists in the international music industry - classics by Lionel Richie (Truly), Whitney Houston (All At Once), Barbra Streisand (Evergreen), Madonna (Borderline), Barry Manilow (Ready To Take A Chance Again), among others.

“This is an interesting point in my career,” says Richard. “Aside from being with a new label (Universal), I am also going back to pop after years of doing big band.”

Richard adds that he welcomes the challenge with open arms, and he hopes that people will continue supporting him and his music.

The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) have made a huge impact on the lives of billions, but there is still much more to be done to address extreme poverty, diseases and environmental crises.

The global development agenda for the period after 2015 will build on the progress made on the MDGs while confronting persistent inequalities and new challenges facing people and planet.

The new development agenda must result from a truly open and inclusive process that engages people from all parts of the world and all sections of society.

The UN and the Secretary General’s High Level Panel on post-2015 want to hear directly from people across the world about what is important to them, so that their views can be taken into account in this global conversation. MY World is conceived as a tool to deliver this.

MY World is a global survey for citizens led by the United Nations and partners. It aims to capture people's voices, priorities and views, so that global leaders can be informed as they begin the process of defining the new development agenda for the world.

Through creative online and offline methods, MY World asks individuals which six of sixteen possible issues they think would make the most difference to their lives. The sixteen issues have been built up from the priorities expressed by poor people in existing research and polling exercises and they cover the existing Millennium Development Goals, plus issues of sustainability, security, governance and transparency.

From now until 2015, we want as many people in as many countries as possible to be involved with MY World: citizens of all ages, genders and backgrounds, and particularly the world’s poor and marginalized communities.

Results will firstly be submitted to the Secretary General´s High Level Panel for Post-2015 before their meetings in Monrovia, Bali and New York and will feed into their final report and recommendations for a new development framework in May 2013.

Afterwhich, MY World will continue gathering people´s voices up to 2015 and results will be shared with the Secretary General and global leaders as they prepare the next development agenda in the run up to 2015.

Hello everyone. We are now gearing up for iBlog9: the 9th Philippine Blogging Summit (#iblog9). In this regard, we would like to invite interested speakers to submit a topic proposal for consideration on or before April 15, 2013.

iBlog9 will take place on May 31 and June 1 at Malcolm Theater, College of Law, U.P. Diliman, Quezon City.

The first day will focus on Blogging for Business and Advocacies (entrepreneurs, corporations, non-government organizations, and similar entities). We prefer to receive proposals on topics that can help businesses and organizations better understand how they can tap blogs as a marketing and promotional tool, and how to work effectively with bloggers to achieve that purpose.

The second day will focus on topics of interest for Bloggers in general, such as blogging must-know, social media, blogging policies, taking blogs to the next level, among others. We are also interested in hearing experience of bloggers from different parts of the country.

HIGH INVESTOR CONFIDENCE IN DOTC AFCS PROJECT ATTRACTS MAJOR PLAYERS!

 Manila, Philippines – A total of nine (9) consortiums involving major local and foreign conglomerates, banks, and IT companies submitted eligibility documents to the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) and the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) last Friday (April 12), in an effort to qualify as bidders for the P 1.72-Billion Contactless Automatic Fare Collection System (AFCS) Public-Private Partnership Project.

“We are very pleased with the investor turnout for the AFCS Project.  Serious players from the transportation, IT, banking, and retail industries – both local and foreign – all came out to seek pre-qualification to participate in the bidding of the project,” the Transport Department said.

The DOTC believes that this is proof of high investor confidence in the project, as well as in the agency itself.

“The fact that these major groups want to be the our private sector partner for the AFCS Project only goes to show their trust and confidence in the Department, and in our open, fair, and transparent bidding process,” added the DOTC.

The 9 consortiums which submitted their qualification documents are:

• AF Consortium, composed of BPI Card Finance Corporation, Metro Pacific Investments Corporation, Smart Communications, Inc., Globe Telecom, Inc., AC Infrastructure Holdings Corp., and NTT Data Corporation.

AF Consortium will also rely on the required experience of Bank of the Philippine Islands, Octopus Transactions Ltd., SMRT International Pte. Ltd., Cubic Transportation Systems (Australia) Pty. Ltd., Accenture, Inc., MSI Global Private Ltd., and Indra Sistemas, S.A.

The joint DOTC-LRTA Pre-Qualification, Bids, and Awards Committee (PBAC) has a maximum of twenty-five (25) days from April 12 to evaluate the qualification documents submitted by the 9 consortiums, and to announce the shortlisted groups.  Actual bidding is scheduled to take place in the third quarter of this year.

DOTC MOVES LAGUINDINGAN AIRPORT OPENING FOR PASSENGER CONVENIENCE!

 Manila, Philippines – The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) today announced that it has decided to push back the transfer of the gateway to Northern Mindanao from the old Lumbia Airport in Cagayan de Oro City to the new P 7.8-Billion Laguindingan Airport by one-and-a-half months to June 15, 2013, in order to avoid disrupting passengers’ travel plans over the summer.

The Transport Department has conducted a walk-through at the Laguindingan Airport and was very pleased with the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines’ (CAAP) preparations for the intended April 30 opening.  However, CAAP has received requests from airline companies to postpone the transfer until after the summer peak season, because the April 30 opening would require the cancellation of several daily trips.

According to the airline companies, their representatives were encountering difficulties in reaching a substantial number of passengers who had already purchased tickets for flights in April and May, to inform them of changes in their flight itineraries.

“It is in the best interest of the government and of the airlines to deliver safe and convenient services to the public,” said the DOTC. “As we took stock of the assessment of both CAAP and the airline companies that the Laguindingan Airport is already a safer alternative to the Lumbia Airport, we again listen to their inputs saying that postponing the transfer will be better for passenger convenience.”

“The postponement will give the airlines ample time to inform their customers of their new flight schedules at Laguindingan Airport.  This will lessen the possibility of disrupting travel plans and causing inconvenience to the riding public,” added the DOTC.

The airlines which operate at Cagayan de Oro are Cebu Pacific Air, Philippine Airlines, PAL Express, and Zest Air.  They serve a combined total average of over 2,000 passengers daily. 

The Laguindingan Airport is a key infrastructure project which is crucial to unlocking the Cagayan de Oro-Iligan Corridor to more tourism- and agriculture-oriented activities.

The government has previously announced that it will be temporarily operated by CAAP using Visual Flight Rules (VFR) until its air navigation equipment is fully in place by May 2014.
