Pasig City, Philippines—On April 19, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) held the Nueva Vizcaya Agricultural Terminal (NVAT) Fresh Strategic Planning Workshop, in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture (DA), United States Agency of International Development-Strengthening Private Enterprises for the Digital Economy (USAID-SPEED), NVAT Inc., and Insight Supply Chain Solutions (SCS).
Launched on 31 August 2023, the NVAT Fresh is a scalable, cloud-based, business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce marketplace platform initiated by the DTI, USAID-SPEED, and NVAT. It aims to facilitate transactions within the NVAT ecosystem, improving access and efficiency for farmers, traders, and buyers.
A comprehensive three-year plan has been developed focusing on four key components with the following objectives:
Food Terminal Digitalization: Aims for full automation of core revenue-generating processes and mission-critical support functions;
Farmers Capacity Building: Focuses on launching extensive capacity-building initiatives for farmers, and NVAT operations staff and suppliers to enhance efficiency and ensure product quality;
Market Linkage: Targets capturing a 50% share of NVATFresh.com transactions by 2026, with an annual sales increase of 50%.
Platform Integration: Aims to complete the full integration of NVATFresh.com as a B2B marketplace platform.
