For every problem, science has a solution, and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST)’s official broadcast platform DOSTv: Science for the People is set to bring these scientific solutions and provide opportunities on air, on radio, and on the spot.

So, do you know that under the Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (SET-UP) of DOST, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) can get new and advanced technologies, equipment upgrade, technical trainings, and consultancy services to help them sustain, boost, and grow their small businesses?

Various projects, programs, products, and services of DOST will be now discussed point-by-point and in detail through DOSTv’s newest public service radio program Radyo Siyensya: Sa DOST, konektado ka! in Radyo Pilipinas (RP 1) every Saturday at 2:00PM starting April 20, 2024.

Through Radyo Siyensya’s phone patch and sit-down interview segments, audiences can directly connect with DOST to ask questions about its products and services which will be answered by none other than the Secretary of DOST himself, Dr. Renato U. Solidum Jr., who heads the program together with his co-host Onin Miranda.

“Ngayong taon, nagbabalik ang ating programa sa radyo, napakasarap sa pakiramdam.Personally, bilang isang radio broadcaster, na-miss ko ito. Ang pagbuo ng koneksyon sa mga tagapakinig/ manonood ay isa sa mga layunin ng ating programa para sa mas maraming tao ang magkaroon ng kaalaman at pag-unawa tungkol sa iba’t ibang mga

said Miranda, who will be bringing timely updates on DOST’s programs and services, from research funding, startup grants, scholarships, business assistance, and more.

Aside from these, the program will also highlight Sec. Solidum’s take on pressing socio-economic issues, as well as his commentary on how DOST will scientifically deal with the problem.

Radyo Siyensya’s pilot episode will anchor its discussion on wealth creation, one of the major pillars that supports the majority of DOST programs. It will feature talks from job creation, technological intervention, up to regional development through science, technology, and innovation.

Through the one-hour weekly radio program, the entire DOST system is ONE in its mission to bring the benefits of science, technology, and innovation for U, as mirrored in its tagline, #OneDOST4U. What is a new addition to the program is that individuals, companies, and institutions will have the chance to submit or send their inquiries, which will be addressed by the experts from DOST.
