Saving Juan, One Pawikan at a Time: The Launch of a Legend

  Mona Lisa Publications invites you to celebrate World Animal Day and World Habitat Day through the release of the children’s book “The Legend of Juan Pawikan and the 7,107 Islands,” written by award-winning author Celine Beatrice Fabie and illustrated by Benjor Catindig.


  The children’s book is part of a campaign called #SavingJuanPawikan which aims to “save every Juan, one pawikan at a time” by inspiring marine life and ocean conservation in children.

  There will be talks on habitat awareness from environmentalist and marine wildlife expert Dr. AA Yaptinchay (founder and director of Marine Wildlife Watch of the Philippines) and Mr. Gregg Yan (award-winning communicator of WWF and Best Alternatives Campaign head).

Winston Cabiles of The Voice Kids Philippines will be doing a reading of the book to be followed by a special performance.

Fabie, the author, wrote the book "Mona Lisa: A Portrait (From the Memoirs of a Grandmother)," the life story of her grandmother, actress Mona Lisa, which earned her the National Book Award for Best in Nonfiction in English in 2014
