The Asia Sports Industry Awards and Conference have been created to recognize and celebrate the business leaders, organizations, facilities and campaigns at the forefront of the sporting industry, that have made a contribution to the growth and development of sport across South East Asia in the past eighteen months.
The vision and core strategies for the sporting landscape in South East Asia, as implemented by supporting federal and national bodies, have ensured the region remains ahead of the game, constantly setting new standards that have become the envy of the international sporting arena. It's now time to showcase these incredible achievements.
The inaugural Asia edition of the Sports Industry Awards, organized in partnership by MMC Sportz and Sport360, will be hosted on Friday 2 October 2015 in Manila, Philippines in view of expansion into the wider Asian regions and host cities in subsequent years.
Sanctioned by the Philipiness Sports Commission and the Philippines Olympic Committee the Sports Industry Conference leading up to the Awards Gala Night is scheduled for Friday 2nd October 2015 (11am - 3pm) and will allow regional industry experts, agencies, consultants, and brands to learn about the currently ongoing major sports related development projects in the Philippines. The event will consist of a selection of key podium speakers from the local sport industry as well as a round table discussion.
Attendees will be able to meet and network with the top officials from the National Olympic Committees, the Philippines Sports Commission, Real Estate Development sector, Tourism Authority and many sport representatives from basketball, football, and many more.
Recognizing achievements in 10 separate categories, both professional and community focused, each submission will be subject to a rigid and transparent 3-step judging process, facilitated by an international panel of the region’s leading industry experts and overseen by auditors in strict accordance with the international sport industry award rules.
The awards will be presented at a red carpet star-studded celebrity gala on the 2nd October 2015 at the prestigious New World Hotel Makati, Manila, Philippines.
Entry Criteria:
Eligible Regions
The 2015 edition will only accept entries from the following countries: Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Laos, Brunei, Myanmar, Hong Kong and Macau.
Eligible Entities include
- Sport Marketing Agencies representing right holders / brands or themselves active in organizing / marketing sports events
- Advertising / PR / Media Agencies directly or indirectly active in sports
- Rights holders of sporting events
- Event Organizers / Sports Organizations / Federations / Governing Bodies
- Facility and venue owners
- Consumer brands active in sport sponsorship; Retail brands active in sport.
Eligible Period:

Sport & Recreation Facility of the Year
This category is open to: All licensed sports facilities which offer state-of-the-art sport & recreation facilities, customer service, and community engagement while playing a pivotal role in the growth of the sports industry and promotion of a healthier lifestyle in the country or wider region.
Evaluation criteria: Provide evidence that facility meets customer expectations, as demonstrated through effective marketing practices, recruitment and retention of memberships and community engagement
Best Sports Retail Campaign
This category is open to: All retail outlets and their groups selling sports products are invited to participate in this category.
Entries are welcome from multiple and independent retailers as well as specialist outlets.
Evaluation criteria: Combination of the following factors - customer service excellence, retail outlet preference, value for money, consumer awareness and affinity.
Best Live Experience at a Sports Event
This category is open to: Any globally-recognized sporting event featuring professional athletes that resulted in: An unforgettable experience for competitors and spectators locally, regionally and internationally; and - Increased publicity internationally for the host city and wider region .
All representing professional associations and or federations are encouraged to submit their entries.
Evaluation criteria: Provide evidence of successful audience engagement based on the following factors - spectator count; effectiveness of pre and post-event marketing strategy through media coverage, social media engagement, brand/sponsorship activation and exemplary levels of organization – including corporate hospitality and logistics . Provide evidence of incremental, positive exposure for venue, host city and wider region among international audiences
Best Sports Participation / Amateur Event
This category is open to: Community sporting events involving amateur participants
Evaluation Criteria: Community engagement and achievement of pre-set objectives. For example: participants and spectator numbers, effective publicity and media coverage including social media, organization and logistics.
Entries are welcome from sporting leagues, associations, academies, schools, other educational establishments and charities.
Best Sports Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Initiative
This category is open to: All brands, organizations and/or communities which use sport as a medium for promoting Corporate Social Responsibility. We encourage corporate and non-profit organizations, sporting leagues, associations, academies, schools, other educational establishments and charities to submit their entries.
Evaluation criteria: Provide evidence of community engagement and effectiveness of corporate philanthropic efforts through participant/spectator count, effective exposure and media coverage including social media, organization and logistics.
Best Sports Marketing Campaign
This category is open to: Companies and/or marketing agencies that undertook effective IMC campaigns such as promoting product launches, new store inaugurations, sports tourism, corporate hospitality, promotions/sales and sports events.
Evaluation Criteria: Provide evidence of post campaign success verified through quantifiable reach and impact on target audience in terms of brand awareness, market share, increased sales and behavioral change measured against original objectives.
Best use of Social Media in Sport
This category is open to: Organizations as well as their marketing agencies that used their social media channels to deliver successful integrated sports marketing campaigns to support new product launches, sports events and event participation.
Evaluation criteria: Provide evidence of post campaign success measured against original campaign objectives. Key impact areas: Influence on target audience, brand awareness, engagement levels and behavioral changes
Best Sports Agency or Organization
This category is open to: Professional sport event organizers including in house event departments of corporate organizations delivering major sport campaigns or events in terms of creativity, planning execution and sporting value in the region.
Evaluation Criteria: Function of the organization in guaranteeing successful events from development to implementation.
Best Sports Youth Programme
Category is open to: Amateur or professional entities (companies, community associations, educational institutions and/or independent sport academies and charities) which executed a project that has proven to have contributed to the furtherance of grass roots youth (aged 3 to 18) involvement in sporting activities in the wider region.
Evaluation Criteria: Social inclusivity and community engagement from the region’s youth will be criteria based on which the judges will be evaluating the submissions received.
Best Sports Digital Platform
This category is open to: Organizations and companies running sports websites, mobile applications, social platforms, online sports news content, classifieds/e-commerce networks, e-sales of tickets and promotional campaigns of sports events locally, regionally and internationally.
Evaluation Criteria: The ability of the platform to attract both producers and consumers and the convenience with which others can plug into the platform to share and transact.
Gala Evening
The prestigious black-tie Gala Dinner and Conference will take place on Friday 2nd October 2015 in the Makati Ballroom of the New World Hotel Makati, Philippines.
The evening will start with a cocktail reception, followed by a three course dinner and the Awards Ceremony, before moving into an after-party that will continue long into the night.
