Greetings! In celebration of the 125th anniversary of Jose Rizal’s Letter to the Young Women of Malolos, the Women of Malolos Foundation, Inc. (WOMFI), through its Basilia Committee headed by Ms. Cheche Lazaro, produced a musical docudrama on this outstanding group of women. Funded by the Tantoco-Rustia Foundation of Ambassador Bienvenido Tantoco, Sr. , the 85-minute film (in Filipino with English subtitles) was produced and written by Nicanor Tiongson and directed by Sari and Kiri Dalena. Titled Ang Kababaihan ng Malolos , this non-profit project was made primarily to be shown to high schools and colleges all over the country, so that the patriotism and courage of these women may be known and emulated by the younger generations of Filipinos.

As planned, the WOMFI would like to screen the film for teachers and students of selected schools in and outside Metro Manila free of charge. For the UP students, the film will be shown on Monday, February 17, 2014, at 5 pm, at the Cine Adarna of the UPFI Film Insitute, with the UPFI sponsoring the venue. An open forum will follow the screening. In connection with this, we would like to ask the UP-Diliman College of Mass Communication to co-sponsor the screening of Ang Kababaihan ng Malolos for the University of the Philippines-Diliman. As such may we ask you to personally attend the screening with your guests and to help us invite the teachers , students and interested guests of your college to come and watch this musical docudrama free of charge.
