Jeannie Javelosa, curator of the Yuchengco Museum, will give an overview of trends in Philippine contemporary art--from the Modernist tradition of the 1950s to the present day--focusing on the innovations of Filipino artists in technique, style, and material as they broke away from the previous generation.

Jeannie Javelosa is a writer and visual art: she is an awarded printmaker and editor of the landmark book Art Philippines. She was an active art critic in the late 1980s and 1990s, with a weekly column in a daily newspaper and published articles in art journals and magazines in Southeast Asia and Australia.
