Manila (June 2, 2015) – The life
of a sales professional is lonely, and it is even lonelier for those working in
small and medium enterprises (SMEs) where the infrastructure and tools to
support sales processes are lacking. Given this inadequacy, it is not
surprising that the Philippines Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) highlighted
“productivity and efficiency” as one of the four areas that SMEs
are facing massive challenges.
ReadySales, an intelligent sales
automation and customer relationship management (CRM) app, is here to change
that.
One of the founders,
a sales professional himself, was motivated to pursue the creation of
ReadySales when he realized that there were many others who were facing the
same problems as he was. To add to the problem, he was also an entrepreneur and
was restricted by tight operating budgets. This meant that the mobile sales
automation tools from the usual suspects such as Salesforce would be too
expensive and out of his league.
“As an
entrepreneur, I often found myself in the driving seat, responsible for growing
the company, which basically meant hitting sales targets. However, the sales
automation tools that I tried using were not useful in helping me close my
deals. For example, I don’t know why but my potential clients always call when
I am driving. And they would give me a bunch of critical specifications that
would be essential to packaging a good deal. One or two clients is fine but
when you have more, it becomes difficult to remember. And you know men are not
the best multi-taskers,” confesses Bryan Toh, one of the creators of
ReadySales.
This
frustration turned into a moment of awakening when he realized that he would
not be the only one facing these pain points. A couple of months later, and
incorporating technologies developed in-house, ReadySales is primed to fuse process
innovation with the art of selling.
Currently,
ReadySales fulfils the basic demands of a sales professional by being able to
generate quotations on the go, function as a goal manager to track sales
progress and manage expenditure.
Yet, the
team is pushing ahead at full speed to incorporate more intelligence into the
platform. Not forgetting what inspired him to create ReadySales, Bryan is
closely monitoring the development of the voice-text
summary function, which will aid sales professionals in capturing vital
information exchanged verbally when they are on the move.
To further
optimize ReadySales for sales professionals, the team ran pilot trials with
actual end-customers in enterprises from a variety of sectors, including
logistics and distribution, real estate and FMCG. The insight gathered will
also allow the team to customize the app to suit the needs of sales professionals
from different sectors. Feedback given by trial participants was favorable,
with many choosing to continue using the app, even after the trial ended.
As
shared by Eugene Ng, a sales manager from Speedmark, “ReadySales powers up my
sales flow, all from my mobile phone. It is liberating because I don’t have to
lug my laptop every I go, and that means a lot since I am usually on the move
70 percent of the day, almost every day.”
ReadySales
is currently in talks with distributors of Enterprise Solutions, and is
actively looking for potential partners.
Agile and
affordable, ReadySales is the answer to the problem of inadequate support tools
that sales professionals in SMEs face. Without having to commit to thousands of
pesos in set-up or licensing costs, or worry about being chained to legacy
systems, SMEs can now empower their sales force and provide the necessary tools
needed to seal the deal. This boost in productivity helps SMEs to sustain their
businesses, an outcome in alignment with the directive of the
DTI, which considers the development of SMEs as a significant contributor to
the Philippines’ long-term economic growth.
