At the just
concluded 2 day Hack the SK, MNL Shaping Davos, wherein the participants got to hack apps
that could bring change to our youth organization which is the Sanguniang
Kabataan.
On the first day alone, there were powerpack
speakers, who imparted their expertise and experiences in their field of
professions. Sen. Bam Aquino SK Chairman,
Dr. Cleo Calimbahin of Transparency International Philippines, NYC President Farah Ghodsina , Dion Romano of
Jessie RobredoProgram, and a lot more, giving inspirations and directions of
how Sanguniang Kabataan should be, to succeed.
Tackling the relevance of SK and why the
youth should take active participation, with the help of our technologies, they must
use this tools to their advantage to succeed in their goals together,
helping and reaching out to all other
youths, thus a transparent SK is vital .
The
panelist pointed out, there should be change of image, reforms, best practices,
eliminated dynasty, support for physical economy, have an independent SK. Change is in innovation, inclusivity, health,
public safety, monitoring, access to technology and the other challenges.
As Dr. Jose Rizal left us with great example and inspiration, that the youth is hope of our motherland , having the passion and drive they must learn to use these
energy to a just, good and rightful use.
The three group that bagged the award, out
of the seven group, were third place was
Team Spectres Solutions (Therence John Resabal, Moses Marzan, Ahmed Masahud) for
OurVoice, a mobile app that highlights topics in SK sessions and lets users
give feedback by voting. second was Team KISS (Ben, Jose San Juan, Gino de
Jesus, Gerald Magracia, James Labnao) for Selfie, a web platform that
aggregates selfie and photo tweets of SK events and engages young online users.
And first was Team
Divided by Zero (Jake Josol, MJ Pormento, Chad Gonzales, Camille Domingo) for a
project gamification & member engagement platform via a web interface and
SMS called Tandem! The app will be pilot-tested and adopted by San Juan LGU.
Hack the SK Manila Shaping Davos 2015 which was held at
Globe Valro Telepak on January 15-16, organized by Global Shapers Community Manila
and Red Wizard Events & PR Strategies in partnership with Globe, Microsoft,
McDonald’s, Foodpanda, USAID, Young Public Servants, PH-LEAD and Branco
Solutions & Consulting.
