"Tasteful Japan” Is This Year's EIGA SAI Theme for 2015

  The Japan Foundation, Manila, in cooperation with the Embassy of Japan, Tokyo International Film Festival, Shangri-La Plaza Mall, UP Film Institute and the Film Development Council of the Philippines presents EIGA SAI 2015 with the theme of “Tasteful Japan” featuring the flavorful culinary world of Japan and the contemporary films released in Japan in 2014. Expect a variety of film genres—comedy, feature, documentary, historical dramas and the all-time favorite sci-fi/ fantasy to complete this year’s line-up. Eiga Sai 2015 is generously supported by JT International (Philippines), Akira, SumoSam, Bobson, ClickTheCity.com and Eagle Broadcasting Corporation.   

    The director of the opening film “Our Family,” Mr. Yuya Ishii will be coming all the way from Japan to grace the opening night at the Shang Cineplex on July 9 (Thursday/7:30pm screening time). He will also have a Director’s Talk at the Lopez Center Studio, Ateneo de Manila University on July 10 (Friday/3:00pm) and at the Shang Cineplex Cinema 2 on July 11 (Saturday/4:30pm).

  Since 1964 Salon International de I’Agroalimentaire, or simply SIAL, has become the venue where the latest innovations in the food industry come to light to help pave the way to the advancement of the global food market. This season marks a significant moment for the Philippine food industry as SIAL ASEAN Manila returns to host the largest food innovation observatory to be held in the Southeast Asian region.

Made possible with a forged partnership between Comexposium and MAFBEX Events Management (MEM), a subsidiary of the country’s leading event and exhibit organizer, Worldbex Services International, all these and more will unfold right before the eyes of the local food industry as the 2nd SIAL ASEAN-MANILA opens today at the World Trade Center.

“Advancing Patriotism in the Age of Internet of Things” At The AFP's 2nd Social Media Summit

Quezon City -Following the success of its biggest event in 2014, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) will be staging its 2nd Social Media Summit on June 23, 2015 with the theme: “Advancing Patriotism in the Age of Internet of Things” to be held at the AFP Theatre, Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.

    Spearheaded by Media and Civil Affairs Group (MCAG) and Civil-Military Operations School of the Civil Relations Service (CMOS) of the AFP, and organized by public relations agency ArdentComm, the event aims to help an individual or organization’s initiatives in information and communication management, enhance the skills of social media managers and build bigger network with AFP’s civilian counter parts, and to establish a structure or mechanism that will synergize and harness social media efforts to achieve organizational and national goals.

Seven films have been selected to vie in the Main Competition of the World Premieres Film Festival Philippines 2015.

The selected films are set to have their international premiere upon their showing during the festival in June. The Gala Premieres of the films will take place on the dates of June 25-27, 2015.
Films in the Main Competition will vie for the following prestigious awards: Grand Festival Prize and the Grand Jury Prize, as well as awards for Best Performance by an Actor, Best Performance by an Actress, Best Artistic Contribution, Technical Grand Prize, and Best Ensemble Performance.
