National Housing Authority (NHA) General Manager Joeben Tai graced the groundbreaking ceremony of the NLEX-C5 Northlink Segment 8.2, Section 1A Project in Quezon City.
The NHA, driven by its mandate to support national development, has maintained strong partnerships with other government agencies and the private sector in implementing infrastructure projects.
Its dedication to collaboration is a cornerstone of the Authority's efforts to help President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.'s administration in delivering on its promise of a Bagong Pilipinas.
“Hindi lang po pabahay at maunlad na komunidad ang ating handog sa ating mga kababayan, nakikipagtulungan din po tayo sa iba pang ahensya ng gobyerno at sa pribadong sektor para sa mga inisyatiba at proyektong lubos na pakikinabangan ng nakararaming Pilipino,” GM Tai emphasized.
The project aims to significantly enhance connectivity to the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) from all sides of Metro Manila, specifically the west, east, north, and south, leading to reduced travel times and a decrease in traffic congestion on major thoroughfares such as EDSA, Commonwealth Avenue, Quirino Highway, and Mindanao Avenue.
Segment 8.2, Section 1A has a length of 11.3 kilometers and is targeted to be completed in the first part of 2026.
Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC) president and CEO Jose Ma. Lim, NLEX Corporation OIC and Chief Finance Officer Maria Theresa Wells, Valenzuela City Mayor Wes Gatchalian, Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, and representatives from the Department of Transportation-Toll Regulatory Board (DOTr-TRB), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), and Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) also attended the event.
