Free coffee on #WorldPoetryDay March 21at 80-year-old Kamuning Bakery Cafe

Poets Prof. Vim Nadera, Juan Miguel Severo, Christina Espiritu, Lance Abellon, Dakila “Dax” Cutab and others invited the public to attend “Performatura 2019: Performance Literature Festival” with the theme: “Ang Mamatay Nang Dahil Sayo” to be presented by Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) from April 5 to 7, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. This was announced at the non-partisan and tertulia-inspired Pandesal Forum of Kamuning Bakery Café in Quezon City, where poets Nadera, Severo, Cutab and Abellon also recited their original poetry and Espiritu rendered a song as advance celebration of “World Poetry Day” which is March 21.


 Vim Nadera and Wilson Lee Flores also announced plans to hold a monthly poetry reading and spoken word session to be called “Pandesalita”.
 In the same Pandesal Forum, columnist and poet Wilson Lee Flores also announced that 80-year-old Kamuning Bakery Café at Judge Jimenez Street corner K-1st Street, Q.C. shall acceptoriginal poems in any language as payments for coffee drinks on #WorldPoetryDay on March 21 Thursday from morning 5 a.m. to evening 10 p.m. as its annual unique tradition to celebrate this occasion.Kamuning Bakery Café pioneered the Philippines’ celebration of “WorldPoetryDay” in 2017 by allowing customers to pay coffee with original poems.He also said Quezon City’s pioneering bakery shall celebrate its 80th anniversary this December.         
 Vim Nadera is an award-winning poet and novelist, professor at University of the Philippines (U.P.), director of the Philippine High School for the Arts (PHSA) and festival director of CCP’s “Performatura: Performance Literature Festival”.
 Juan Miguel Severo is a multi-talented actor, musician, writer and very popular spoken word artist. He acted in the TV series “On the Wings of Love” and in various movies.
 Wilson Lee Flores has won 3 Palanca literary awards and 15 Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA), a realty entrepreneur. He bought and revived Kamuning Bakery Café in 2015 due to love of history and good traditional foods. Although much of Kamuning Bakery Café burned down in 2018, he hopes to rebuild and restore it.
Apart from many diverse writers, artists, leaders and celebrities, among the poets who have been customers of Kamuning Bakery Café include National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) chairman and National Artist for Literature Virgilio Almario, Jose “Pete” F. Lacaba, etc.
