The 4th PNP-ACG Summit on Cybercrime which is organized by Philippine National Police - Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG) and by Emazingways was held last March 21-22, 2017 at the PNP Multi-Purpose Hall, Camp Crame, Quezon City. The two-day summit which the theme is "Securing the Nation's Digital Transformation and E-Commerce" was been attended by individual from both public and private sectors. Most of the attendees came from the financial sector, especially from the banking sector, and the law enforcement sector. The summit is completely free of charge but the attendee should have been pre-registered. There are about 400 people who had attended this two-day affair.
PNP Police Director General (PDG) Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa also came to the event as a guest of honor. He gave an inspirational message and congratulated the PNP-ACG on their fourth anniversary and their successful efforts to thwart the cybercriminals. He also congratualed them in holding the summit that would help educate more people on ways to protect them from being targeted by cyberciminals and to teach them what to do when they were been attacked by cybercriminals. He also officiated ribbon cutting of the exhibit area to officially open it during the summit.
During the first day of the summit, the talks are more about what the laws that were made against cybercrime and the proper authorities that have the jurisdiction in investigating and prosecuting cybercriminals. There is also a discussion about Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty (MLAT) and how could our country use this to prosecute cybercriminals outside our country.
The topics during the second day are more on how you can personally protect yourself, your family and your company from possible cyber attacks.
