The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau Expand Business Opportunities in ASEAN

The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) in cooperation with the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) and the Chamber of Commerce of the Philippine Islands (CCPI) mounts a road show in the Philippines to promote Thailand’s businesses potential, provide networking opportunities with Thailand’s seven leading professional exhibition organizers in automotive & logistics, food & agriculture, energy, and health & wellness.

The new global marketing campaign “Thailand Extra Exhibition” is being launched to offer the Philippines business with extra benefits and better connections, with Thailand‘s  wide spectrum of services.

The new initiative underlines the country's strengths and privileges through a number of core new initiatives that will be implemented in 2016 to emphasize Thailand's value in the next stage of ASEAN connectivity and show Thailand’s huge potential as a marketplace for exhibitions and with that, unrivalled business opportunities.

The Philippines is Thailand’s vital trade counterpart and the two countries have expanded their relations through bilateral cooperation in key area such as agriculture, science and technology and much more. To expand trade value between the two countries, TCEB together with international trade show organizers from Thailand are embarking on aggressive marketing efforts to enhance cooperation in exhibition industry.


“Thailand Extra Exhibition is the latest initiative to come from the team at the Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), showcasing three key attributes of doing business in Thailand - the destination itself,  the lucrative business opportunities,  and its people and culture. These factors, combined with TCEB's world-class support and service infrastructure, position Thailand as a marketplace with outstanding potential for the exhibition industry, and by extension for companies looking to access markets in the ASEAN and Greater Mekong Sub-region, ” said Ms. Jaruwan Suwannasat, exhibitions & events director.

The Philippines is considered one of the priority countries for Thailand due to the long established trade relations and growing trade volume between the two countries, at $8.4 billion in 2014. Thailand was the Philippines’ eight largest trading partner while the Philippines is Thailand’s 6th largest trading partner in ASEAN and the 18th biggest in the world.

Thailand’s exhibition highlight industries that are mapped with Philippines’ growing sector  including automotive & logistic, food & agriculture, energy, and healthcare & wellness.

A buyer appreciation programme to attract key international buyers to trade show in Thailand. Two nights will be granted to a single qualified buyer, selected by the organiser.

The Thailand Extra Exhibition initiative underlines Thailand's unrivalled commitment as a business destination, and its reputation as a leading destination for exhibitions.  Today, with the expanding economic community that surrounds it and the connectivity and opportunity that this brings, Thailand is set to capitalize on an unprecedented wave of growth.

“In 2015, the number of exhibition delegate from the Philippines has increase 155.2% from the previous year accumulated to 5,501 delegates and with the Thailand Extra Exhibition and the Exhibition Extra Advantage Programme, we hope the number will grow up to 15% in the next year to come and may draw interests from the business parties in the Philippines,” left Jaruwan.

Exhibitions in Thailand reached a milestone with a record 103 trade shows in 2015. This year the country expects to welcome 190,400 international exhibition delegates, generating a total of 17 billion baht.
