Join The Philippine Red Cross Million Volunteer Run Year 3 This 2016!

  
  I  had  the chance to meet former senator Dick Gordon up close, at Red Cross headquarters on a  bloggers conference.  kind of person one can rely on especially in times of need. I have seen him gave inspiring talks from back then, he haven’t change  a bit and still passionate about what he is for, 
The Philippine Red Cross, (PRC) which he chair since 1986, has gone a long way and had helped countless people incidents of calamities

    I would have not known that PRC, is not just an emergency and aid giver but a whole lot more. Its major concerns are Blood Services, Disaster Management Services, Safety Services, Health Services, Social Services, Red Cross Youth and Volunteer Services with its fundamental principles – humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity and universality. it now offers a wider array of humanitarian services ranging from preventive medicine to therapeutic counseling, to youth leadership. Sir Dick Gordon enumerated all the programs and services of PRC

  And with their new location at Boni, EDSA  it is more visible and accessable for the public. And with the state of the art and high-tech facilities. we can expect more and better help.
Aside from housing the PRC’s executive offices and different services, the Tower is also home to foreign delegates from the different National Societies working in partnership with the PRC.

  Several departments involved in PRC’s flagship programs were also present, particularly Volunteer Services on Red Cross 143 program, Safety Services on various safety trainings offered, Haiyan Operations on achievements and preparations for the second year commemoration, the Special Projects Unit on the Million Volunteer Run 3, Disaster Management Services on disaster operations, and the Operations Center (OpCen), which showcased OpCen’s state-of-the-art capabilities, one of it is the Million Volunteer Run.

  Join the biggest run for humanity on February 6 Saturday, from 6am to 10am nationwide. Now on its 3rd year, the Million Volunteer Run is a humanitarian run organized by the Philippine Red Cross to raise funds to purchase ambulances, earthquake rescue trucks, food trucks, shelters and other lifesaving vehicles and equipment. The proceeds also allow the Philippine Red Cross to continue to provide rescue and blood services for the country.

The Philippine Red Cross has 102 chapters nationwide, with each chapter having its own designated run site for the convenience of the runners.  For the complete list of chapters, click HERE. You can buy your tickets from these chapters for PhP400.
