This conference seeks to feature advancements in GIS and remote sensing software, opportunities and challenges in the use of GIS and the best practices in GIS and related researches.
More importantly, it highlights the inclusion of GIS in the curriculum or scholastic programs of educational institutions through Service Learning, an instructive model that actively integrates community service with learning outcomes in a credit-bearing academic course or a co-curricular project. This training allows students to actively engage in GIS service activity while meeting a real and actual community need, thus, embracing this year’s theme of Learning and Leading through Service.
