We provide the meeting places and market places to work on solutions to the climate crisis. We are pleased to invite organizations from across the events industry in the Philippines – venues, organizers, exhibitors, suppliers and events stakeholders – to join this first collaborative effort to drive the events sector towards net zero in the country, through a Hybrid event entitled :

More about the Initiative 

In November 2021, the "Net Zero Carbon Events" pledge was presented at the COP26 UN Climate Change Conference - "A united pledge and roadmap for a net zero carbon future for events. Industry leaders from venues, organisers, suppliers, and associations, were live on stage at the UN Climate Change Conference, COP26, in Glasgow, to represent and demonstrate the commitment of the events industry community to fight climate change." The final draft of the roadmap is scheduled to be presented at the COP27 in Egypt this coming November. To date, more than 400 entities from around the world are supporting this initiative, and Fairs and More Inc., subsidiary of the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP), is proud to be the first signatory and supporter of The Net Zero Carbon Events (NZCE) Pledge in the Philippines. With this milestone, we are inspired to launch the initiative in the Philippines to convene the local events industry and stakeholders.  

Kai Hattendorf, Managing Director of UFI – The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, will be one of the main speakers to discuss The Net Zero Events Initiative, and the Priority Action Areas of the Roadmap to Net Zero by 2050. He will be joined by industry leaders, local government representatives and environmental advocates with the aim to bring together a wide range of industry stakeholders to:

Jointly communicate the industry's commitment to tackling climate change and driving towards net zero by 2050

Develop and present the common methodologies for measuring the industry's direct, indirect and supply chain greenhouse gas emissions

Construct an industry-wide Roadmap towards net zero by 2050, and emissions reductions by 2030 in line with the Paris Agreement and climate science, with support and guidance on key issues

Foster collaboration with suppliers and customers to ensure alignment and common approaches

Establish common mechanisms for reporting progress and sharing best practice.
