Teaching is the noblest of all professions, according to young Filipino Chinese entrepreneurs of Anvil Business Club. In the afternoon of September 25, Anvil Business Club and special guests led the advance multi-sectoral celebration of Teachers Day and Confucius’ 2,570th birth anniversary (which is September 28) at the Chinese Garden of Rizal Park, Manila.
Special guests at the honoring teachers event were led by Philippine National Police (PNP) National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) director Major General Guillermo Eleazar, Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce & Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) President Dr. Henry Lim Bon Liong, top China Embassy diplomats, Philippine Public School Teachers Association (PPSTA) leaders, and others. The honoring teachers event organizers were led by Anvil Business Club Chairman Wilson Lee Flores, Anvil President Patrick Cua, Anvil chairman emeritus George Siy, Anvil project heads Richmond Co and Sheryll Yu.
The highlight of the celebration was the ancient ceremony of three bows by multi-sectoral groups before the granite Confucius monument (which was donated by Anvil Business Club in 2009 under then chairman Wilson Lee Flores and president Eduardo Cobankiat). Fresh rose flowers were then given to leaders and representatives of public school teachers and private school teachers.
