Women Inspiring Women Series: An International Women’s Day Celebration
The Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) will celebrate the International Women's Day through the first leg of the "We Make Change: Women Inspiring Women Series" on March 8, 2018 at the GSIS Theatre in Pasay City.
The Forum Series aims to celebrate women's journey by sharing inspiring stories of change in their chosen fields in order to encourage their fellow women to be empowered change agents. It will also serve as a venue for women to inspire and appreciate each other, and create an environment supportive of each other.
This is the first of a three-part Forum Series which PCW organized with partner organizations on March 8 (GSIS Pasay City), March 5 (Aklan Provincial Center), and March 22 (City Government of Davao and University of Southeastern Philippines) for the National Women's Month Celebration, with the theme: "We Make Change Work for Women".
The forum on March 8 will feature inspirational stories of 2010 Bar Exams blast survivor and now public servant of San Juan City Councilor Raissa Laurel Subijano titled "On Having Courage to Start Again" and Aurelia and Amelia's CEO and Founder Ms. Maria Katrina Manalo titled "On Braving Life's Greatest Storms".
Also featured in the forum are stories of Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Undersecretary and 2012 GAWAD CES Presidential Awardee Dr. Brenda Nazareth-Manzano, and award-winning broadcast journalist and now Content and Acquisition Head of ABS-CBN Lifestyle Ecosystem Group, Ms. Ces Oreña-Drilon.
