National Teachers' Month Activities!

Did you know that the Philippines has the longest celebration for teachers and the teaching profession? From September 5 to October 5 of every year, we honor our heroes in the classroom-- the teachers.

And it starts today
Happy National Teachers' Month to all teachers!

Here is the calendar filled with activities from the National Teachers' Month Coordinating Council. We're glad to report that it is a growing list so please check frequently for updates!

In 2008, inspired by the celebration of World Teachers’ Day on October 5 of every year that was declared by the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 1993, Br. Armin Luistro F.S.C., then President of De La Salle Philippines together with Metrobank Foundation Inc., President Aniceto “Chito” SobrepeƱa spearheaded the Teachers Month Campaign (TMC), in recognition of Filipino teachers and educators and their contribution in shaping the country’s future leaders. With the theme, “My Teacher, My Hero”, the celebration of teachers’ everyday heroism has continued ever since.
